I worked for 10 years as a marketing copywriter/editor for Citrix, focusing mainly on the GoTo products (GoToMeeting, GoToMyPC, GoToAssist, etc.). During that time I worked on websites, email, print collateral, ads, newsletters, product interfaces, help documentation, and even radio copy.
Then I worked for 5 years for ASGN/Oxford Global Resources, where I created internal communications, presentations, case studies, datasheets, and other marketing content.
Here are some samples.
- 10 Signs You Need a Consulting Service Partner – I created this article for the Oxford blog.
- Process Piping for a New Confection – I enjoy writing case studies like this one – the only down side is I couldn’t reveal the client name for legal reasons, so I had to leave out a lot of fun details. Here’s another one I liked.
- Citrix Triathlete Workshifts to Train – in Hawaii! – This is one of my favorite content pieces. I interviewed a colleague about her plan to work remotely while training for the Ironman Hawaii race.
- GoToMyPC mini site – I wrote all the copy for this set of landing pages, which were used to capture leads from specific email and web banner campaigns.
- GoToWebinar print ad – I had fun writing the copy for this print ad. The creative team made the image, and then I submitted several copy ideas. This is the concept they ran with.
- Top 10 Writing Mistakes webinar deck – I created and presented this internal webinar to help teach my colleagues to be better writers. We had about 80 attendees. It was well received; the recording was saved and shared across several teams. (Proprietary information has been removed from this version.)
- Website copy – So much is written by committee, it was hard to find samples of my own, but I did save a few screenshots.
- Marketing collateral – Here are a few samples from my time at Citrix:
